Fiona Williams, Lorna Philip and John Farrington from Geography and Gorry Fairhurst from Engineering have made a written submission to the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee rural broadband inquiry. Drawing upon research being undertaken as part of the Rural Public Access WiFi Service project, funded by the dot.rural Digital Economy Research Hub at the University of Aberdeen, their submission sets out challenges affecting remote rural households and business as a direct result of poor connectivity and illustrates the benefits that can accrue in personal and business lives from the installation of innovative connectivity technologies.
