Does your physical health prevent you from getting out and about? Or do you know someone in that situation? Geography PhD student Gillian Dowds is investigating the potential for digital technology to bring local events and activities into the homes of people who are less able to get out and about. She is looking to talk to people to gain some feedback on a new idea for technology, which is based on previous research.
Gillian is looking to talk to people who are:
- Aged 55 or over
- Living in North-East Scotland outside of main city centres
- Unable to get out and about as much as they used to, due to their physical health (such as pain lasting over 3 months, recovery from an illness or any long-term physical condition such as Arthritis, MS or Diabetes)
- Living in their own home (unfortunately this project doesn’t include people who live in Care Homes)
Taking part would involve a single visit from Gillian lasting 1-2 hours, and no previous experience with digital technology is required. For further information, please email Gillian.Dowds@abdn.ac.uk or phone 07746 096 567. Thank you.
