Fifty 4th year Transport Geography students recently participated in a ‘Question Time’ style debate on transport in the Aberdeen region. Panel members Rab Dickson (Nestrans), Paul Finch (Aberdeenshire Council), Russell Henderson (AECOM), Hugh Murdoch (Aberdeen City Council), and David Phillips (First Aberdeen) responded to student questions on topics ranging from managing congestion in Aberdeen City and Shire, to methods for encouraging public transport use, to interactions between transport and economic development.
The event, which also included a guided walk of areas featured in the recently-released City Centre Masterplan, provided students with the chance to interact with local transport experts and obtain a richly nuanced view of how these different interests are working together to shape the future of transport in the Aberdeen region.
