A Guardian editorial has named Geography the must-have A-level, citing both a recent jump in popularity (up 13% from last year) and a renewed realisation of the benefits the subject can offer. According to the article, '...geography is a subject for our times. It is inherently multidisciplinary in a world that increasingly values people who have the skills needed to work across the physical and social sciences.'
Also notable are the employment prospects of geography students - '...according to the latest information from the Higher Education Careers Services Unit, only 5.8% of geography graduates were still job-hunting six months after they graduated, against an average of 7.3%.'
