Master of Land Economy (MLE) students were able to ground-truth information they had been taught in their lectures when visiting Glensaugh Farm near Laurencekirk on 30 Oct 2019. The farm is an upland livestock farm with sheep, suckler cows and farmed red deer, and a great resource for research and teaching. Farm manager Donald Barrie explained his preference for haylage with a higher dry matter content, the experimental agroforestry plots and tree establishment more generally, the difficulty of getting farmed venison to consumers and many more insights. The students enjoyed the open format for questions and discussions.
