"Realising the Vision of Future Urban Mobility" The conventional urban mobility system is on the verge of breaking down. Fueled by factors such as exponential urban population growth, the rise of individualism, and globalization, it is expected that the total numbers of hours the average person will spend stuck in traffic will double by 2050. Moreover, since potential road capacity in major cities is rapidly reaching its saturation point, it is naïve to believe that it can be increased indefinitely to tackle the rise in mobility needs. A paradigm shift is required. This talk intends to build on a vision of Future Urban Mobility. This vision will lay foundation of the metric that we are developing to score the current state of cities, with the aim of identifying on which areas cities should cities focus to tackle Future Urban Mobility demand.
