Professor Neil Price has recently been invited to become a Research Associate at the Laboratory for Past Disaster Science (LaPaDiS) at the University of Aarhus, Denmark.
Established with Danish state funding under the directorship of Dr Felix Riede, LaPaDiS studies the archaeology of ancient catastrophes and natural disasters, especially volcanic eruptions, to gain insight into social resilience and vulnerability to such events. Professor Price’s work at LaPaDiS focuses on the extreme weather phenomena of AD 536, probably the result of an eruption, which devastated large regions of northern Europe.
