Hosted and delivered by the University of Aberdeen, UNI-Versal is a suite of multi artform festivals, promoting Aberdeen, Scotland, and its stories to local and International audiences. Working with partner organisations, UNI-Versal linked to the region’s narratives underlined by Scotland’s seasons, ‘majestic’ heritage, and the great outdoors. Held in and around both the ancient and modern University campus’ at Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill, we aimed to encourage University students, staff, locals, and visitors from far and wide to enjoy our historic campus and experience Aberdeen in a meaningful way.
In 2022, the University hosted 5 mini festivals, each contributing to a spectacle of shared experiences across the year. Each of the 5 festivals delivered cultural and creative activity linked to key dates in the University calendar, and offered shared experiences for locals and visitors alike, enabling new stories of Scotland to be shared.
UNI-Versal 2022 linked to the University’s 525 years of global history, joining the stories of our past with our hopes for the future as set out in the University’s 20-year strategy, Aberdeen 2040. Open to all, we welcomed our UoA family, neighbours from our local communities and the wider North East of Scotland, as well as visitors form all over the UK and across the globe.
