Aberdeen Site Visit

Our scientific committee and local organising team embarked on a thrilling site visit to Aberdeen in preparation for the upcoming PCST Science Communication Conference, scheduled for May 27-29, 2025.  Here's a sneak peek into our adventure and how we're weaving the conference themes of transitions, traditions, and tensions into every aspect of the event:

Historic Venues: We visited the iconic Aberdeen Music Hall which has a close link to science communication in the UK. Steeped in history and culture, this charming venue promises to provide a captivating location for some of our social activities.

Conference Venue: The dynamic and modern P&J Live will host the PCST Science Communication Conference. With its state-of-the-art facilities and accessible spaces, P&J Live is the perfect venue to facilitate engaging discussions, networking opportunities for our attendees. This dynamic and modern facility will provide the perfect backdrop for our discussions on the evolving landscape of science communication.

Collaborative Discussions: Amidst our venue explorations, we convened for a stimulating seminar to delve into the conference themes. With science communication practitioners and researchers from diverse backgrounds, we engaged in insightful conversations about the transitions shaping our field, the enduring traditions that ground our practice, and the tensions inherent in communicating complex scientific concepts across cultures and languages. Watch this space for more information about this discussion.
