The RCUK Digital Economy Theme seeks to transform the lives of people, communities and businesses through the design and deployment of innovative information and communication technologies. This conference is a multidisciplinary environment in which innovative thinkers and researchers are able to share ideas about how to make an impact on society across a range of sectors.
Digital Economy research is working to realise the transformational impact of digital technologies on aspects of community life, cultural experiences, future society, and the economy. In other words, how technology and its changing application is impacting and transforming society. Creation of a community in the UK that is capable of world class, leading research in the Digital Economy area is a key aim of the RCUK Digital Economy Theme. The Digital Futures 2012 meeting is a key event designed to encourage the development of this community. The RCUK Digital Economy Theme is supporting research to rapidly realise the transformational impact of digital technologies on aspects of community life, cultural experiences, future society, and the economy.
