Wudang Health Practice and Five Animal Movement
Free 6 week course starting on 11th November.
Every Wednesday 1pm-2pm from 11th November until 16th December.
Wudang Daoist health practice and cultivation are famous for the “internal art”. In general, it includes the methods “Tu Gu Na Xin”(breath out the old and breath in the new) and “Daoyin”(guidance) which aim to cultivate human being’s internal works and assist us to accumulate our energy, essences and spirits. Five Animal Movement is one of the representative Wudang Daoyin routines, which is a series of separate forms creating five short routines: Turtle, Snake, Crane, Tiger and Dragon.
The class will start with warming up exercises, before standing and sitting meditation. Next comes the Five Animal movement, starting with Turtle.
The outcome of the class is to have a taste of Wudang Daoist way of health practice, learn the Turtle and Snake forms of Wudang Five Animals Movement. Meanwhile, the course will provide an insight into ancient health practices and Chinese culture.
