In association with the Sound Festival, Dr. Roger B Williams explores the interface between acoustic and electronically produced sounds. This concert features music by Billy Thompson, Pete Stollery, Ligeti, Roger Williams, Claire Singer and Paul Tierney. Roger B.Williams, MBE, Organist Emeritus to the University of Aberdeen, was born in South Wales but grew up in West Yorkshire before returning to Wales to read music at Cardiff University.  After researching into the Early Development of Arnold Schoenberg at King's College, Cambridge, and after eight years as a free lance musician in London, he was appointed to the University of Aberdeen where he spent more than 30 years contributing to the musical and academic life of the University. In the 1980s he was Chorus Master to the SNO, and over the last five years has been commissioning pieces for the new Aubertin organ in the University Chapel.  He has been recorded by Hyperion, Chandos, Alpha, Redbook, and Cantoris record labels. Recent recitals have been given in Durham, Guildofrd, Ripon Cathedrals and in France and Belorussia.
