Explore your imagination at the University of Aberdeen's May Festival. Hundreds of events for all the family.
This years May Festival is set to be a great weekend. With themes including Word, music, sport, science, environment and Gaelic and a full children's programme, there really is something for everyone!
Our star line up includes Journalist Kate Adie,talking about her career reporting from war zones and hotspots around the world, The Charlatans' front man Tim Burgess sharing the highs and lows of rock and roll life and acclaimed journalist Tony Parsons talking about his exciting new book ‘The Murder Bag’.
British Bake off runner up James Morton will be sharing his baking tips and filmmaker David Bond will be persuading you that nature is the next big product! In our Gaelic strand, musician Mary Ann Kennedy will be performing and Professor Rob Dunbar will be speaking about the curious place of Gaelic in the 2014 referendum.
We also have panel discussions with leading experts in their fields - 'Health or Wealth' will discuss what really impacts on our health and wellbeing and 'Energy Vs Anxiety' will look at whether developing technologies can really keep the lights on.
The children's programme includes dance classes, a magic show, a campfire party and an attack of giant chicken robots!
As well as all the events there is lots going on for the family to enjoy. Face painting, stilt walkers and drop in exhibitions, where you can learn everything from how to solder jewellery to how to build a boat!
