This Roundtable is co-organised by the University of Aberdeen's Centre for Commercial Law and Global South Law Research Network to critically discuss cutting-edge complexities in Africa's evolving digital economy vis-à-vis contemporary developments such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
As the AfCFTA seeks to create new market opportunities for Africa’s digital products, the Roundtable will examine the scope of digital trade within its Protocol on Digital Trade in line with the emerging international digital trade rules in the World Trade Organisation. With Africa’s fintech sector growing rapidly and offering innovative solutions, the Roundtable will analyse relevant legal and policy frameworks critical to supporting and sustaining this transformation. Additionally, the Roundtable will feature the launch of Davidson Oturu's new book FinTech Law and Practice in Nigeria.
Event moderated by: Dr Titilayo Adebola (Senior Lecturer, Director Centre for Commercial Law, Co-Convenor Global South Law Research Network, University of Aberdeen)
