We are delighted to welcome master printer Michael Waight to the Sir Duncan Rice Library Gallery on Saturday 5th October for a unique look at some of the prints he made in partnership with the renowned British illustrator, Ralph Steadman. NOT TO BE MISSED!

In the late 1980s, illustrator and caricaturist Ralph Steadman was touring the whisky distilleries of Scotland and encountered Peacock Visual Arts in Aberdeen. This led to a printing partnership and friendship with master printer, Michael Waight that lasts to this day.

One of the series Ralph created with the skills and craftsmanship of the Peacock team at his side, is the set of portraits of great authors and poets. An example from this series, a portrait of the Irish novelist and dramatist, Samuel Beckett, is part of the University's Collections and is on show in the Striking Impressions exhibition. Michael will be bringing along examples in his own collection from the Writers series which includes Burns, Burroughs, Proust and Woolf.
