What’s your health worth? 20 years of valuing health in monetary terms
In the presentation, Cam will explore a body of work on the monetary valuation of health – especially the value of quality adjusted life years (QALYs). In particular, he will:
- Outline the origins of the notion of the value of a QALY and how it then developed into two major empirical research projects, the Social Value of a QALY (SVQ) and European Value of a QALY (EuroVaQ).
- Describe the methods and results of SVQ and EuroVaQ.
- Briefly discuss how this work has evolved through to the current day.
