Hammad is a senior corporate partner at Pinsent Masons. He is based in the firm’s London office and is the Global Head of the firm’s Transaction Services Group which comprises its Corporate, Commercial, Tax, Competition and Employment & Reward practices. Hammad sponsors the firm’s multicultural network, FREE, and leads the firm’s focus on race and ethnicity.
Hammad was raised in Fife and studied a non-law degree at the University of Glasgow before studying law in London. He started his legal career at Herbert Smith (now Herbert Smith Freehills) joining the partnership there in 2010. In 2013 he moved to Ashurst where he held a number of senior management roles. In April 2017 he joined Pinsent Masons as the Head of Corporate for Financial Services. Last year Hammad and his team won the prestigious Insurance Team of the Year and Regulatory Team of the Year awards, and were commended by the Financial Times for their innovation on a complex Brexit related cross-border transfer of insurance business.
