An online exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Aberdeen Student Show, the longest running student stage show of its kind.
Opening in April 2021, this exhibition celebrates the Aberdeen Student Show, a musical comedy performed by the University’s students every year since 1921 to raise money for charity. Sharing the memories of past and current cast members, as well as delving into the University's archives, it's got something for aabody, including a routh o’ Doric!
From writers and directors to singers and dancers – the Show has always been filled with creative stars, many of whom have gone on to fame and fortune on the stage and screen. Supporting those in the limelight, there have also been a great many talented folk behind the scenes, including costume designers, set builders and administrators, helping to make the show possible. The exhibition will tell some of their stories.
Risques Galore, The Sound of Mastrick and Invasion of the Doric Snatchers are just some of the pun-tastic titles that have drawn North-East audiences to Aberdeen's His Majesty's theatre over the years. Discover scripts, souvenirs and cast photos from your favourite!
Visit this online exhibition and experience a wee bit of the spirit of show from the comfort of your sofa. Dinna miss it!
