A discussion as part of the Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science 2020 Seminar Series, exploring the relationships between evidence and policy in the context of Covid-19.
On Monday, July 6 a discussion was chaired by Professor George Boyne, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Aberdeen, with guest speakers Professor Agnes Binagwaho, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda, Professor Paul Cairney, Professor of Politics and Public Policy at the University of Stirling and Dr Lucia D’Ambruoso, Senior Lecturer in Global Health at the Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science, University of Aberdeen.
The discussion explored experiences of evidence-based policymaking from the global South and North and the new roles of Universities in supporting values-based working, train change agents, and working cooperatively with policymakers to deal with uncertainty, change, and the unequal consequences of policy choices.
