Episode seven in the 'PodFest 2020' podcast series.
This podcast looks at the work of Professor Abbe Brown - Chair in Intellectual Property Law and Professor Marcel Jaspars - Chair in Chemistry, in advising policy makers who are developing a new UN treaty to conserve marine biodiversity.
Their key goals are for the treaty to permit freedom of marine scientific research and allow the sharing of any benefits that arise from commercial use of marine biodiversity.
Marcel and Abbe are also trying to bring this work to a wider audience, and they are joined by composer Professor Paul Mealor and poet Dr Grahame Davies who have together created the wonderful piece The Song of the Oceans to highlight these issues.
