With increased movement of people, migration, globalisation and
diversification of societies, language learning becomes a necessity
for an increasing number of adults. This workshop will explore
the potential of dance for language learning.
During the workshop, participants will be led through a variety of contemporary dance techniques, textual analyses of poetry in relation to choreographic approaches in both English and other languages spoken in Scotland (incl. indigenous and community languages) and initial responses to choreographic devices. Together we aim to investigate the views of language learners on the role and potential of dance and poetry performance in language learning.
Workshop is open to adult ESOL learners.
