The joint forces of the UoA Symphony Orchestra and the UoA Choral Society perform Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Richard Strauss's tone poem Tod und Verklarung.
The first half is taken up with the Symphony Orchestra in Strauss's'Death and Transfiguration'This stands out for its concise program of an unnamed artist's demise and the subsequent transformation of his spirit. The UoA Choral Society join the orchestra in the second half for a performance of Carl Orff's'Carmina Burana', one of the most popular pieces in the classical music repertoire.
