Maolin Liao, a research student member of CADR, supervised by Dr James Ing defended his thesis.
The thesis is titled ‘Dynamical methods for rock stiffness identification based on the axial vibration of rotary-percussive drilling’ and it was sustained subject to minor corrections. Prof David Wagg from Sheffield served as the external, and Prof Ekaterina Pavlovskaia was the internal examiner.
According to his supervisor, Dr James Ing, Maolin brought an excellent positive attitude to his work and showed exceptional effort over the course of the PhD and the award is very well deserved.
