In this seminar, the feature of magnetic fusion energy (MFE) and inertia fusion energy (IFE) are introduced at first.

In this seminar, the feature of magnetic fusion energy (MFE) and inertia fusion energy (IFE) are introduced at first. The blanket and first-wall designs are very important for the MFE/IFE reactor designs. Especially, the thermofluid characteristics of the blanket and first wall are the key issues for the wall protection scheme from the high heat and particle fluxes. The general scientific interests in both systems are summarized, and then some perspectives on engineering challenges related to Liquid metal and FLiBe blanket systems, Magentohydrodynamics, Turbulent flow, Heat transfer, Ablation and condensation etc will be discussed briefly.
