Reconnecting Today's Scottish Traditional Musicians with Scotland's North-East Traditional Fiddle Styles and Repertoires

The aim of this project was to explore the underlying musical dialects of the North-East fiddle tradition, providing a firm foundation for future creative work and a benchmark for similar future research. Paul interviewed key exponents of North-East fiddle style and travelled throughout the region introducing Scottish traditional music to new audiences locally, nationally and internationally.


The Oral and Cultural Traditions of Scottish Travellers Project

Funding: Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF)

The project was designed and delivered to raise the awareness of children and young people to the rich heritage of Traveller traditions, especially through interactive workshops of song and story. The project also involved documentation and recording of Travellers' oral and cultural traditions, including songs, ballads, stories, language, customs, beliefs, occupations, and family life.
