Celebratin Sheena explores the work of multi award-winning North-East poet, writer, storyteller and singer Sheena Blackhall.

One of Scotland’s most important literary figures comes to the Barn for an evening of poetry, music and performance. Celebratin Sheena explores the work of multi award-winning North-East poet, writer, storyteller and singer Sheena Blackhall. To give audiences a comprehensive taste of Sheena’s work, this show incorporates pieces from all her areas of creative interest to present her work, new and old, in an innovative way whilst paying respect to the traditions within which much of her work was created. Featuring: Sheena Blackhall, musician Simon Gall (Salsa Celtica); actress/musician Kim Templeton; composer Rory Comerford; and, Ten Feet Tall Theatre (producer), this piece showcases the best of North-East culture through the work of a remarkable makar. Celebratin Sheena is part of the Barn Residencies programme and has been created in collaboration with the Elphinstone Institute, University of Aberdeen. The project has been made possible by funding from Aberdeenshire Council. £12, £8 Friends of the Barn
