This week we're listening to the new podcast series by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR): ‘Spotlight on community engagement and involvement (CEI): Improving global health research and outcomes through engaging with local communities.’
The podcast series will be bringing guest speakers together from across the globe to share their take on the importance of CEI and any top tips for good practice.
Episode one is live and available to listen here, with an introduction to the NIHR's own approach to CEI, with host, Gary Hickey (Senior Public Involvement Manager), in conversation with guest speakers, Vijay Rajkumar (a public contributor) and NIHR's Assistant Directors of Global Health Research programmes, Sarah Puddicombe and Mike Rogers.
At the Centre for Global Development, the team working on the 'NIHR Global Health Research Group on promoting children's and adolescent's mental wellbeing in sub-Saharan Africa' will be listening in the series to inform the project's approach to community engagment and impact in Rwanda and Ethiopia.
