Abstract

The last edition of Education in the North in 2023, Volume 30(2) Pedagogy in the North,  came from the work of the New Northern Pedagogies Group and its work with ITE tutors from across Scotland. The event held in January 2023 offered disruptive thinking for ITE work across Scotland and, indeed, beyond. The event itself was supported by the Scottish Government through its Arctic Connections Programme, Scotland's-arctic-policy-framework, and although the papers in that edition were not necessarily from participants in the January event, certainly, the work therein came from similar thoughts processes and deliberations as those held in Aberdeen in January.

This latest edition of EitN is a further extension of this work. The original call for papers received a superb response and led to the articles featured here and in the previous edition. In this edition, readers will find five, wide-ranging and original research-based articles and three features – shorter pieces.

We hope you enjoy this latest edition. The New Northern Pedagogies Group is continuing its work as we speak. We have extended the membership of the collaborative group, and we are sure that such additions will enhance our work, and the progress we wish to make. Indeed, following our last meeting, a further call for papers is soon to be announced with guest editors Dr Kirsten Darling McQuistan and Dr Kalpana Vijayavarathan; look out for this. Finally, if anyone is interested in working with us, adding to our work, or even if you are just curious, please get in touch.
