This conference will provide an opportunity for government officials from Scotland, the fourteen African Commonwealth nations, national and international energy companies in sub-Saharan Africa, investors, financial Institutions and development partners from academia and civil society to meet and exchange ideas on how best to promote energy equity.
The Commonwealth Heads of Government conference on Energy, Equity and Development on 22nd July in the Barony Hall, Glasgow, will provide an opportunity for government officials from Scotland, the fourteen African Commonwealth nations, national and international energy companies in sub-Saharan Africa, investors, financial Institutions and development partners from academia and civil society to meet and exchange ideas on how best to promote energy equity. It will also be a platform to examine case studies and examples of good practice from Commonwealth countries and from Scotland and to identify challenges encountered. Speakers include representatives of Senior Government officials from Commonwealth countries and Scotland, representatives of the United Nations Sustainable Development For All (SE4All) Initiative, the Equity Energy Consortium, the Scottish Fuel Poverty Forum, academia and civil society.The event is being held on the eve of the Commonwealth Games to maximise participation from Senior Government officials from a range of countries.The following categories are available for registration:Student/ Unemployed Rate Public Sector RateCorporate RateAfter registering for the conference you will be sent a programme and further information.
