Susan P. Mains is a Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Dundee, having previously worked at the University of the West Indies-Mona (Kingston, Jamaica) and the British Film Institute (London, UK). Her work explores connections between cultural identities, mobility, space and media representations of place, and utilises a range of mixed-method approaches (including film, in-depth interviews and landscape interpretation).

Her work has been published in a range of international journals and has been funded by the American Geographical Society, the University of the West Indies and the Association of American Geographers. She is currently coordinating an edited collection--acting as co-editor for the forthcoming book Mediated Geographies/Geographies of Media, which is part of the Springer International Handbooks series.
