School of Education Lecturer, Stephanie Thomson recently attended the 2018 ESRC Research Methods Festival in Bath and presented her work on Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA).
The Festival is held every two years and attracts social science researchers from across a range of disciplines and sectors. The majority of presentations are invitation-only and the event is a showcase for current work in social science methodology. Stephanie was the only presenter at the conference from the University of Aberdeen and one of only five speakers from Scottish universities.
This years’ festival included keynote speakers Professor Danny Dorling (Halford Mackinder Professor of Geography at the University of Oxford), Professor Donna Mertens (Professor Emeritus at Gallaudet University, Washington DC) and Professor Nancy Cartwright (Professor of Philosophy at the University of Durham and the University of California).
