Apardjón Journal for Scandinavian Studies

Apardjón Journal for Scandinavian Studies is an interdisciplinary and Open Access periodical focusing on the Viking and medieval North. Attached to the Centre for Scandinavian Studies at the University of Aberdeen, the journal is a publishing and networking platform for early career researchers.

Peer Review Process
  • All articles will go through a blind peer-review and will be read by two editors and/or readers. Each editor/reader will then submit a reader report, indicating whether they will recommend the piece for publication. In cases where the two reader reports present strongly different reviews, a third blind reviewer will evaluate the piece. A final reader report will be sent to the writer together with an acceptance/rejection letter.
Open Access Policies
  • Provides open access to make research freely available, authors retain copyright of their articles.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  • Authors retain copyright of their submitted work and grant Apardjón Journal for Scandinavian Studies right of first publication of the work. The submission will be licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work, crediting the work's authorship and initial publication in Apardjón Journal for Scandinavian Studies.
  • After their work is published in Apardjón Journal for Scandinavian Studies, authors are able to enter into separate contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of their work, with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in Apardjón Journal for Scandinavian Studies.
