Monster Map Mass Colouring Event with Special Guest Johanna Basford!
-

A not to be missed Special Event for Book Week Scotland, supported by the Scottish Book Trust.

University Collections are delighted to be rounding off their Book Week Scotland programme with a special event and very special guest, the bestselling illustrator, author, and pioneer of the adult colouring book trend, Johanna Basford.

Johanna will be at the Sir Duncan Rice Library on Sunday 24th November to help guide the mass colouring of a giant map!

About the Event

Come along to the Sir Duncan Rice Library for a relaxing and sociable afternoon of mass colouring and help create a giant map inspired by the Ortelius atlas of 1592 from the University's Collections that will be on display in the  Library Gallery as the centrepiece of the newly opened ‘Imagined Norths’ exhibition.

Drop in, pick up a pot of pens and help us complete our Monster Map by the end of the day. Johanna will be here as colouring coach and chatting to visitors throughout the event.

Come for a short time or stay all day.  At busy times, you may be asked to wait to chat to Johanna or to join the Monster Map table, but whilst you wait, why not visit the exhibition or grab a coffee in the cafe.

For younger children we'll also be making paper sea-monsters inspired by the imaginary beasts that are swimming around the Ortelius atlas.

All materials will be provided.

Book Sales

Blackwells will be joining us for the event and will have a selection of Johanna's books for purchase.

Parking

Parking at the Library is FREE and open to all on Sunday.

This event has been supported by the Scottish Book Trust.
