Join Dr Kara Layton (Biological Sciences) and Professors Timothy Baker and David Wheatley (Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture) to explore shells and their meanings.

Come along to this research event, exploring ideas related to shells and their meanings.

As well as discussion of concepts and practices relating to emergence (or not) from disciplinary and other invisible shells, there will be opportunities to experience material from Museums and Special Collections, related to the project ‘Marvellous Molluscs’, led by Hannah Clarke with Kara Layton and Eilidh Player (Bill Pettit Memorial Award 2021).
