Innes, John Charles
Regiment: O.H.M.S.
Biography: Son of George and Margaret Innes, Tullochallum, Dufftown ; born Dufftown, 22 February 1886 ; educated at Robert Gordon's College. He graduated M.A. in 1909, and then went to the F.M.S. as assistant on a rubber estate, becoming Manager to the Penang Rubber Estates in 1928. He was recognized as an authority on the industry and often consulted by the Malay Government. He retired in 1937, when he was gazetted O.B.E. In 1942 he was asked by the Government to undertake a mission dealing with planting, and it was while travelling to the Far East that his ship was sunk and he lost his life in February 1943.
