Ingram, William John Sievewright

Biography: Son of John Sivewright Ingram and of Annie Ingram (nee Milne), late of Aberdeen; born Aberdeen, 10 September 1889 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. He graduated M.B., Ch.B. in 1912 and joined the R.A.M.C. at the beginning of the first world war, serving in Gallipoli, Egypt and France, and being awarded the M.C. in 1916. In 1918 he was commissioned as Captain in the I.M.S., transferring in 1924 from the Military to the Civil Service. In 1939 he was recalled to the Military Service and took part in the Burma campaign. Latterly he was A.D.M.S. at the Medical Directorate in Cairo and it was after returning from an inspection at Tobruk in June 1944 that he died as the result of an accident.
