Gove, Alistair Murray

Biography: Son of Andrew C. Gove, D.C.M., and Catherine M. S. Gove, Clyde Street, Aberdeen ; born Gourdon, 1924 ; educated at Robert Gordon's College. He began an Arts course at the University in 1941. Called up at the end of his second year, he joined the Royal Navy. After training he was posted to a destroyer and had been afloat only six weeks when his ship, defending a Russianbound convoy, was torpedoed early in 1944, and he lost his life.
