Cormack, William Scott

Biography: Son of Peter and Ann I. Cormack, Aberdeen; born Aberdeen, 1916 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. From 1933 till 1936 he was an Arts student at the University, and then received an appointment with the British Aluminium Company. Later he entered the Kenya Police Service. Returning to this country in 1940 he joined the Gordon Highlanders and was commissioned with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Transferred later to the Queen's Royal Regiment, he went overseas in 1942. He saw action with the Eighth Army from Alamein to Sabratha, where he fell in February 1943.
