Biography: Son of John and Mary Jane Alexander, Maisondieu Place, Elgin; born Elgin, 1910; educated at Elgin Academy. He graduated M.A. in 1931 with Honours in Mathematics and Natural Philosophy. After teaching at Dallas and Cromdale he received an appointment with Lloyds International Banking Corporation in Paris, and in 1938 was transferred to the London Headquarters. He joined the Army on the outbreak of war and was commissioned in the East Lancashire Regiment, being appointed Liaison Officer at York in 1941 between the Army and the Air Force. He died at York in September 1942.
