The Collection is comprised of volumes, mainly monographs but including some serial titles, from Christ's College, Aberdeen. The College was founded by members of the Free Church of Scotland as Aberdeen Free Church College after the Disruption of 1843, specifically for the training of its ministers. Its name was changed to United Free Church College in 1900. The College was linked with the University of Aberdeen's Faculty of Divinity after the Union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church of Scotland in 1929, becoming Christ’s College in 1936.
This Collection complements material in the Brown Lindsay, Thomson, Herald and King pamphlet collections, the MacBean Stuart and Jacobite Collection, the Bibliotheck of Kirkwall, The Taylor Psalmody Collection, and the library of the Episcopal Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney.
