Sarahs collection of antiquarian books focuses on late 19th to early 20th century Victorian parlour literature on varying divination techniques and beliefs.
As much of this printed material was intended for recreation, it has not often been well kept and can be difficult to locate from either professional or second-hand sources.
Highlights from Sarahs collection include the Grammar of Palmistry (fourth thousandth printing, c. 1898) by Katharine St. Hill; Palmistry for All by Cheiro (eight printing, c. 1910s); Pearson’s Fortune Teller and Fortune Telling by Cards by P.S.R. Foli (dated 1924 and 1917, respectively); and Zadkiel’s Dreambook (undated, believed to be c. early 1900s). All of these authors are known mystics or spiritualists with their own unique histories, followings, and further writings.
