Michal Nowakowski is a PhD student at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Department of Early Modern Polish Literature) and has just handed in his doctoral dissertation which focuses on Jesuit  literature. He already published a book which appeared in 2023 under the title 'Ambassador at the Crossroads. The World of Values in the Diplomatic Manuals of Poland-Lithuania and their European Context' whcih forms the basis for today's talk.

He has a position as a research fellow at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and currently works on a new project on Jesuit–Calvinist polemical literature in early modern Vilnius, for which he came to Aberdeen on a fellowship from the Polish Science Foundation, using the Scottish Catholic Archives and other material from the University Collections. In 2024 he held a Fulbright fellowship at Boston College.
