Working in Partnership with You

Working in Partnership with You

The Careers and Employability Service is keen to work in close partnership with all academic Schools. This is the best way to ensure that students receive early and well-targeted careers information, advice and guidance, and can develop the skills and experience which will allow them to reach their career goals.

If you would like to discuss opportunities for collaboration, then please contact the lead Careers Adviser for your academic School.

In the curriculum

We can tailor our input to any School, discipline and course. This can take the form of a short introduction at an induction session to co-teaching courses, including assessed elements. Examples include BT3006 Working out? Placement and Career Skills (MMSN) and AY3514 Professional Archaeology (School of Geosciences).

In addition, a range of 0-credit Professional Skills courses is available to all undergraduate and taught postgraduate students covering a range of careers- and employability-related topics.

Careers input outside the curriculum

We are also happy to discuss and run tailored sessions and events for your students outside teaching time. This can range from sessions on career planning, making applications or applying for postgraduate study to networking evenings with alumni, sourcing industry/employer speakers or collaborating on mini careers fairs, or running regular drop-in sessions for your students in a specific location.
