Biography

Dr Shainaz Firfiray is a Senior Lecturer in the Business Management Discipline at the University of Aberdeen Business School. Her expertise lies in the areas of work-life balance, employee well-being, diversity, social identity, and family businesses. She holds a PhD in Management from the IE Business School, Madrid.

External Memberships

Shainaz is currently an editorial board member of Human Resource Management (US) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE).

Research Overview

Shainaz’s research on work-life balance examines how the intersection of work and non-work roles can affect personal and professional lives. She also studies how factors in the work environment including the attitudes and behaviors of leaders can impact employee well-being. Additionally, her work is focused on understanding the dynamics of abusive supervision and its long-term consequences for employee and team engagement.
