The Scottish Institute for Research in Economics, the University of Aberdeen Business School, the Centre for European Labour Market Research and the College of Arts and Social Sciences are sponsoring a two-day conference on the economics of educational and skills mismatch in the labour market to be held at the University of Aberdeen on 13-14 October 2014.
Innovative theoretical and empirical contributions focus on the measurement of match quality, the consequences of mismatch for the wages of workers, the relationship between matching and business cycles and employer perspectives on matching. There will also be a policy forum involving economists from the Scottish Government and the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP). The keynote speakers are Professor Peter Kuhn, University of California, Santa Barbara and Professor Michael Sattinger, State University of New York at Albany.
