Young Enterprise Grampian co-ordinates the running of Young Enterprise Scotland's well-known Programme in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Senior pupils had spent the past nine months setting and running their own business, supported by school staff and Business Advisers across the North East. The experience gives pupils an invaluable experience and helps them to develop a wide range of employability skills. The regional winner will then go on to represent Grampian at the Scottish Finals in June.
The Business School had sponsored the award for Best Managing Director at the regional finals this week with Dr King Omeihe, Head of Business Management partaking as one of the judges.
Reflecting on the evening King Omeihe, Head of Business Management said "The Business School is delighted to sponsor the Managing Director award in what was a very competitive and enterprising category. Entrepreneurship remains part of our Head of School’s vision; as such, a key part of our engagement commitment is to support North East’s brightest students to realise ideas that are commercially viable. We believe that by nurturing these young entrepreneurs we can improve awareness of business start-ups for younger age groups which our society can build on"
School Engagement Officer, Pam Cumming was also in attendance for the awards ceremony. Having worked with many of the schools represented that evening through various business workshops over the past several years. Discussing her own personal experience with YEG, Pam said "it is an honour to be part of Young Enterprise Grampian. Young enterprise shaped my future.
