The University of Aberdeen Business School has been granted accreditation by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Graduates of postgraduate management courses will now be able to gain a coveted professional qualification to enhance their degree as well as access an invaluable range of resources whilst studying.
CMI is the only chartered professional body in the UK dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. Students who complete degree programmes that are CMI accredited will graduate with a professional qualification and be a member of the CMI”
The partnership with CMI is initially benefitting Executive MBA students and it is hoped to roll it out to other MBA and post-graduate management students in the near future.
Ian Robson, Director of Accreditation said “We are delighted our students can benefit from this partnership. CMI offer an excellent resource base giving access to invaluable on-line learning materials including over 9000 publications as well as CMI research, company profiles, webinars, podcasts and videos to support their learning. In addition there is a career development centre which provides access to a network to a CV service, a network of mentors and internships and career development advice as well as advertising management job vacancies. On graduating our students will be able to gain Chartered Manager status enhancing their attractiveness to employers”.
The accreditation was marked by a plaque presentation at the Business School. Jas Sandhu, CMI Relationship Manager who presented the plaque to Head of School Bryan McGregor on behalf of the CMI, said:
