If you are looking to embark on a career in management consultancy then Management consultancy: the role of the change agent was written with you in mind.
Following 17 years in management consultancy I wrote my PhD thesis on experiences in the management of change. I have served in four Scottish Universities teaching on MBA courses and developed and ran management of change courses at undergraduate level. In 2014 I launched an MSc in Managing consultancy and change and each year our students have been successful in securing a career in consultancy work
Our courses have included not just the theories of change, but the skills needed in qualifying, negotiating and closing consultancy business. Last year two consultancy companies employing our postgraduates contacted us to request similarly skilled applicants from our courses. We were pleased that our students were successful in their applications
The work that we do on our courses is contained in the book. There are also accounts from experienced change agents in the chapters; video of some of our contributors; and activities we use on our courses all of which can help you acquire knowledge, enhance your skills and consolidate your experience
The book has been launched in October by Red Globe Press. We hope you will enjoy reading it and find it useful to you.
