This course aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of the health-related benefits of exercise, appropriate exercise schemes for special populations (with a focus on cardiac rehabilitation, aging and obesity), and the physiology and management of sports injuries.
It's purpose is to develop a good level of understanding in the following areas:
- Adaptation to endurance and resistance exercise
- The benefits of exercise for disease reduction and prevention
- Sports injuries and their management
- The importance of exercise in an aging society
- The role of exercise and nutrition in combating obesity
- Working with elite athletes
