This course aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of the health-related benefits of exercise, appropriate exercise schemes for special populations (with a focus on cardiac rehabilitation, aging and obesity), and the physiology and management of sports injuries.

It's purpose is to develop a good level of understanding in the following areas:

  • Adaptation to endurance and resistance exercise
  • The benefits of exercise for disease reduction and prevention
  • Sports injuries and their management
  • The importance of exercise in an aging society
  • The role of exercise and nutrition in combating obesity
  • Working with elite athletes
