a one day practically based course, focusing on the fundamental aspects of wave phenomena.

The University of Aberdeen is proud to host a professional development day for teachers of Physics. The course will be entirely practically based and will focus on fundamental aspects of waves, especially those relevant ot Higher and Advanced Higher Physics. As usual the lab manual will be liberally sprinkled with suggestions for student investigations. The course will take place in the newly refurbished labs of the Physics department.
Course Aims
This professional development aims to provide an opportunity to:
- pursue ideas for student projects and demonstrations
- undertake experiments outwith the school environment
- increase confidence in delivering this area of the syllabus in school
- consolidate and extend teachers' knowledge and expertise
- network with other teachers and university staff
- share ideas and concerns regarding CfE.

Fees
The course will cost £105 pers person; fees include course notes, a sandwich lunch and refreshments.
